Club History

2005 - The birth of the Griffins!

Five Chorlton men sat in their local pub in May 2005 talking about the possibility of starting a football team for their children. This idea has developed into a FA Charter Standard Club that children from across the area have engaged in regulary

Hough End Griffins now run teams from Under 7's to Under 16's, with four girls teams as well as a weekly Soccer School for 5-7 year olds, and has attracted some fantastic local young talent.

The aim is two involve local children and parents in developing a strong, local, community-focused club. Chairperson Ian "Boz" Walker says "We have a fantastic committee, great coaches and we have received great support from The Hough End Centre and Broughton Park Rugby Club. Exciting times are ahead!"

Director of Coaching and founder member Paul Evans likewise is excited about the future "We want to get as many kids as possible off the street and into sport. Its great way of making friends and keeps and we have won many plaudits already with the style of football we teach where we encourage all the kids to play with a smile and express themselves"
