League and Cups Status So Far February 2012

Yes!! the boys are currently through to the Semi Final of the Manchester County Cup, were they will play Cadishead Sports Junior @ home on the 18.03.12

The lads are also in the quarter final of the U15s Tameside League Cup, where they will play Apollo @ home date to be confirmed.

Last but not least our League position is 3rd, or all it joint second with Moston Reds and 7 points off the leaders Avros with plenty game left to play, we are all optismistic that we can catch them for the title, however if not we are looking to maintain our form and finish as high as we can in our 1st season in this league.

So still on 3 different fronts there is lots to still be focused and play for.

Tameside League Journey 2011-2012 So Far December 2011

The journey has been both challenging and rewarding to both players and manager. Decent start, however having slipped up twice in fixtures that we could and should of won with our levels of peformance. The boys realise that this is part of the process in learning, how well you/can you respond to defeats you don't normally experience. Our reactions have been many things, positive, humbling, hungry and desireable and commited. All these to recapture the levels of exceptional team and indivdual performances that made them one of the leader of the pack within their age group.

Players Further DEVELOPMENTS & ACHEIVEMENTS 2011-2012

I share this with you, while we have under gone another transion as a squad this season with the successes of player that acheived 2 contracts with my support @ professional football clubs at the end of the U14s season. i continue to wish the the very best and every success at these levels and I am always their for them if needed. however I trust you will make the most and maximse these opportunities presented to them at this stage of their careers.

Yet another transion for all the right reasons, productive and positive reasons again this season. To ensure this transion is smooth and collective we are working through all the elements, learning and togetherness that goes without saying. trying to do this without losing any of our competitive edge, will to progress, positive attitudes, my style of play and fun/love of the sport

Their are 4 goals required to complete a century of league goals also. COME ON THE GRIFFINZZZZ....LET GET IT DONE & DUSTED!!!

Wilmslows fate sealed NINE!!! times and boys virtually win title at their expense

The boys exzacted revenge on Wilmslow twn and more or least seal the league title last night on their pitch......totally out playing them with some barca style free flowing football, full of energy, tempo, movement, finishing, skill, purpose passing, injection, power, strenght...no need to go on!! Glad for boys as we loss league title to these by a point a couple of years ago, this was a shame as they were the best football team in the league then as well.

GRIFFINS BOYS RETAIN LEAGUE CUP AGAIN!!!!

We've got our trophy back, We've got our trophy back!!! After a shakey first 15 mins. boys out play, out fought and out class our opponents, everybody contributing and impacting on the game in a positive lite. we defeat Oswald Road 3-0, score our 100th goal in league and cup. Boyz March 4 Double: This Sunday is the ''Semi Final'' of the ''League Cup''

Our lads play Wilmslow Albion @ home this weekend in the semi final of the league cup....all support welcome.

Well I never!!!! What a game & what a score: 18? Yes, 18 Goals!!

The lads recorded not only their highest win of the season, but also the highest by any side in this division this season. Also the highest I have ever seen whilst we have been in this league division. Beating Deans 18-1 was a extraordinary performance & phenomenal achievement....

Well done lads absolutely fantastic.....

Griffins Win a SHOOTOUT........PHEW!!

Not sure if this game should of gone to penalty as we had larger share of possession and numerous more chances to kill the game. However you've still got to take your chance to have an opportunity of winning. Left it late and did just that in penalty shootout. Along with two excellent save from Roger 'superman' Degue.....SEMI FINAL HERE WE COME!!!!!!!

At Least 20 Reasons For A Poor Result Today!!

Well done today lads, all players and team could of easily drop their guards down given the oppositions current position and form. Not to be though. Lads maintained their 100% league record, recording double figures of wins for the season so far. Next week back to the cup and a match against domestic league rivals Barhill....

Griffins Equal Highest League Victory!!

Last week the lad equaled their highest league win, by beating Broadheath 9-1, given the history and competitiveness between the 2 club, this was both a pleasing and satisfying victory. Well done lads, lets keep this up........

Griffins 14's set new Targets or remainder of Season

U14's bow out of county cup, but set new targets and challenges for rest of season.......

County Cup Quarter Final

A big big well done to all the squad for their hard work, honesty, effort and commitment. my players left everything on the pitch. In what was a thrilling cup tie. You were truly unfortunate...heads up.

County cup last 16

Boys beat Boothstown 3-0 away from home today to progress to the quarter final, where they will now play Moston Juniors away on 13.02.2011

Local Derby Falls Victim of Weather Again!!

Last weekend Sunday 12th December 2010, our fixture with Odswald Road was called off 1st thing in morning by myself, poor weather conditions on and off the field, raised major concerns to me for the players and parents health and safety.

County Cup 3nd Rd Draw 2010- 2011

We have been drawn out of the hat to play Boothstown away on the 6th Jan 2011.

Previous knowledge of this team is: We played them pre-season in a friendly at home. Won this game convincingly...

Now all that will count for nothing towards us and everything to them...

They will have something to prove, while we will have to guard against complacency and false assumptions..

New day, new game, only one winner one day, lets make sure we turn up with our best game.

December Chill factor!!

Due to some severe weather conditions there has been no football matches for the pass 2 weeks. I hope this weekend the snow and frost will give the ground and pitch a reprieve.

The lads have a local derby and return fixture against Odswald Road this weekend. Weather permitting?

We trained last night and all the players are fit and in good spirit for the game.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Milan Thompson who has signed for Macclesfield Town, after impressing them during a trail period. Well Done Milan. Keep up the good work and good luck for the future from us all.

High 5 Griffins..........

The lads progressed to the last 16 of the County Cup, through a convincing home victory against Staylbridge Celtic. Winning the game 5-2
